Verify Details at the Source
Custody and release information can change quickly. A jail roster may update after a delay, and a person who leaves one facility may have been transferred instead of released to the community. Office hours, contact details, fees, forms, portal fields, and access rules can also change without notice. No promise is made that every fact or link is current, complete, or free from error.
Beaufort County has an added risk of mistaken source selection. Search results may lead to the separate county in South Carolina, while the North Carolina sheriff directs current inmate searches to a mobile app. Confirm the state, agency, and person before relying on a result. Contact the office that created the record before visiting a facility, making travel plans, sending funds, or acting on a stated custody status.
Information Is Not Legal Advice
Nothing published here creates an attorney-client relationship or serves as legal advice. General explanations of North Carolina public-record law, release terms, court files, probation, parole, federal custody, or immigration detention cannot account for every fact in an individual matter. Statutes, court orders, agency rules, and case-specific restrictions may produce a different result.
A website cannot replace advice from a lawyer licensed for the relevant jurisdiction. Anyone who needs guidance about legal rights, deadlines, expunction, record access, a court order, custody, supervision, or the consequences of relying on a record should consult a qualified attorney.
Independent Search Providers
Some pages contain search boxes supplied by independent third parties. Those providers operate their own systems. Beaufort County Released Inmates does not control their search results, coverage, prices, payment terms, advertising, security practices, or treatment of information a visitor submits. A provider's appearance on a page does not make its result an official Beaufort County or North Carolina record.
Visitors should read the provider's terms and privacy notices before entering information or paying for a service. Questions about a charge, result, account, or submitted data must be taken to that provider. An official record should still be confirmed with the government office that owns it.
Limits on Outbound Links
Links may lead to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, North Carolina courts, the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, VINELink, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, ICE, or another outside resource. Each destination controls its own pages, databases, access rules, and updates. Beaufort County Released Inmates does not operate those services and cannot ensure that a link remains available or that an outside result is accurate.
An outbound link is provided as a route to a potentially relevant source. It is not an endorsement, warranty, or guarantee. The linked operator is responsible for its content, and visitors should verify that the correct jurisdiction and agency are shown before using the information.
Records Remain With Their Custodians
Beaufort County Released Inmates hosts no jail roster, release record, inmate file, booking record, court file, corrections record, or federal detention record. It points to agencies and locators that may hold or display those materials. It cannot confirm present custody, supply a certified copy, correct an official entry, remove a record, or answer a public-record request for another office.
For a local booking or release record, request the existing record from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. State prison and community-supervision records belong with NCDAC. Court judgments and case copies belong with the Beaufort County Clerk of Superior Court. Federal prison records and immigration custody use separate BOP and ICE channels. North Carolina Chapter 132 governs access to many public records, but exemptions and confidentiality laws may limit what a custodian can release.
